#MarkHenryInc Individual office furnishings of the freestanding type, or groups of individual office furnishings that are electrically connected, are mechanically contiguous, and do not exceed 30 feet when assembled, are permitted to be connected to the building electrical systems by a single flexible cord and plug provided that a) the flexible power supply cord is listed extra-hard usage with 12 AWG or larger conductors, b) the cord equipment grounding conductor is insulated, c) the cord is not greater than 2 ft in length, d) the receptacle suppling power shall be on a separate circuit serving only the office furnishing loads, e) the maximum number of receptacles outlets within the office furnishings does not exceed 13, and f) the office furnishings do not contain multi-wire circuits [NFPA70:605.9].
